Chiropractic Care
We provide advanced spinal correction and chiropractic adjustments utilizing "state of the art" chiropractic techniques. Never in the history of chiropractic care have chiropractors been able to provide the level of help and expertise that is available today. Many of the newest chiropractic techniques are actually safer, more comfortable and more effective than ever before. As a chiropractic clinic who cares about utilizing the most advanced chiropractic techniques, our doctors have years of training, expertise and experience in helping patients get pain relief for back pain, neck pain, headaches, and other related conditions originating from the spine. Chiropractic care under a trained professional can even be used to prevent injuries and help you achieve total health or wellness.
Chiropractic Techniques utilized in our office include but are not limited to:
Gonstead, Thompson Drop, Diversified, Cox Flexion/Distraction Adjusting, Impulse Adjusting, Activator Method, Motion Palpation, Extremity Adjusting.
Therapeutic Technologies
Specific therapeutic technologies used in our office include:
MLS Laser Therapy
Removes Toxins
Laser energy stimulates cells to remove toxins, like histamine and cytokine, out of cells.
Increases Energy and Blood Flow
Laser light increases ATP production and cell growth by bringing blood flow to the area of pain or dysfunction.
Wavelengths
It features two wavelengths: 808 and 905 nanometers. The 808 wavelength is for inflammation, and long lasting. The 905 wavelength is analgesic, and is fast acting.
Treatment Time
Typically acute patients will need 6 treatments every other day for 2 weeks, and chronic patients will need 10 treatments every other day for 3 weeks.
Kinesiology Taping: Getting you back to your sport faster.
Seen on many athletes, especially in the 2012 Olympic Games, Kinesiology Tape is an amazing new technology used in our office to help patients grow and heal. By using Kinesio Tape we can better engage and coordinate a patient's movements to increase efficiency and reduce fatigue. Kinesio Tape reduces swelling, accelerates blood flow and helps coordinate movement. Unlike traditional rigid tape, which utilizes compression and immobilization in treatment, our office uses RockTape. It's elastic and offers a more comfortable alternative for the patient. RockTape can assist in injury prevention and recovery. It is water resistant and stays on the skin for three to five days. And don't worry, RockTape is hypoallergenic - zinc oxide free!
Ultrasound
Ultrasound is a therapeutic treatment using high-frequency sound waves administered in the region of soft tissue injuries. Sound vibrations, as fast as a million times per second, penetrate tissues deep in the body, creating a heat response. These vibrations and heat help break down and disperse unhealthy calcium and other hard tissue accumulations. Ultrasound feels like a gentle massage in the treatment area; most patients feel a pleasant and relaxing sensation below the surface of the skin.
Interferential Electro-Therapy
This is a therapeutic treatment to aid in the relief of pain and promotion of soft tissue healing. Tiny amounts of electrical impulses are induced into the tissues in the vicinity of the injury. Where these waves intersect below the surface of the skin, a low-frequency stimulation is created. This prompts the body to secrete endorphins and other natural pain killers to help relieve pain. Our patients love this therapy and consider it a very relaxing 15 to 20 minute massage.
The Graston Technique
This technique uses stainless steel tools to effectively break down scar tissue and reduce inflammation that causes pain and restricted mobility. Combing the tools over the sight of injury "catches" fibrotic tissue enabling the doctor to treat soft tissue lesions with the depth, pressure and specificity necessary to affect the condition at the site of the pain. The instruments break up the scar tissue so it can be absorbed by the body.
Graston Technique is clinically proven to achieve quicker and better outcomes in treating: Achilles Tendinosis/itis, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, Cervical Sprain/Strain (neck pain), Fibromyalgia, Lateral Epicondylosis (Tennis Elbow), Lumbar Sprain/Strain (back pain), Medial Epicondylosis/itis (Golfer's Elbow), Patellofemoral Disorders (knee pain), Plantar Fasciitis (foot pain), Rotator Cuff endinosis/itis (shoulder pain), Scar Tissue, Shin Splints, Trigger Finger, Women's Health (Post-Mastectomy and Caesarean Scarring).
Corrective Exercises
At Belville & Associates Chiropractic Clinic, we teach our patients how to perform special "blueprint" exercises which can help strengthen and correct the irregularities in their body which may be causing pain. Many of these corrective exercises can actually be performed in the comfort of your own home to help improve the effectiveness of your chiropractic care and spinal correction plan. In addition to skeletal misalignment, you may be experiencing pain that is caused by muscles and connective tissues which are out of their proper place. Other types of pain such as back pain, neck pain, and headaches are caused by muscles and tissues that are being used improperly, causing injuries over time. In each case, targeted corrective exercises and stretches from our experienced chiropractor will help you feel good while also helping your body achieve balance and health.
Lifestyle Advice
Many of our patients come to see our chiropractors to address a specific pain symptom such as back pain, neck pain or headaches. While our chiropractors will address each patient's specific condition with chiropractic care, we often find it helpful to "coach" our patients towards achieving a healthier lifestyle. For example, there may be certain activities that you should avoid or do differently to prevent yourself from unintentionally aggravating your particular health challenges. The goal of including lifestyle advice with a chiropractic care plan is to help each and every patient achieve the fulfilling and happy lifestyle they deserve, one that is full of the activities that are enjoyed most. We recognize that every single one of our patients is a whole person, and we use our expertise to help them reach total health and wellness.
Nutritional Counseling
What does nutrition have to do with chiropractic care? The goal of chiropractic care is to help patients achieve total health and balance with their body, and as part of that goal we provide specific recommendations on nutritional supplements and healthy food choices. Nutritional counseling by our experienced chiropractic health professionals can assist a patient on their return to optimal health. Do you know which supplements and vitamins are good for you? Do you know how these supplements and vitamins interact with one another? At our clinic, we can provide each patient with a structured nutritional program that is based on their individual needs. Our doctors have been extensively trained, tested and certified through the State of Wisconsin in Nutritional Counseling. With ongoing training to stay aware of any changes in nutritional protocols, we are able to provide each patient a structured and unique nutritional program that is based on their individual needs and latest research.
